Darklab Overview

               Black Sheep Networks (BSNI) sponsors Darklab,
               a laboratory environment that consists of installed
               networks and systems where members of our team
               can hone and enhance their security skills and engage
               in security research. The test beds of systems and
               networks provide real world environments that facilitate
               successful research and development.

               A broad spectrum of ever evolving networks,
               operating systems, management utilities, security
               products, and applications emulate real world
               environments. The Black Sheep Team is constantly accessing
               Darklab via LAN, WAN, VPN, modems, or direct
               connection through a console to emulate real world
               access environments. The goal is to create an
               artificial environment where network and system
               attacks can be unrestrained and unfettered. In our
               Darklab environment a simulated attack will many
               times destroy a network or system without the
               consequences usually encountered at a client's site.

               Our team of security experts use these test beds to
               test for vulnerabilities, create exploits, verify
               problems or hardness of security, and stage
               topologies for non-disruptive client projects. Black Sheep
               clients range from some of the most popular
               operating system vendors to security and application
               vendors who want the security of their products to
               be aggressively tested and verified. Black Sheep clients
               benefit from our lab experiences because of the
               enhanced skill level of the team.

               Our team pushes testing to its limit and derives
               much needed information about how a system is
               vulnerable and how an attacker might proceed to
               compromise the network, system, or data. Permitting
